Beautiful Waters and Buildings in Beaufort (#110)

We had a beautiful travel day on our trip to Beaufort. We will go to both Beaufort (Beeuufort), SC and Beaufort (Bowfort), NC which are pronounces slighlty different and can be very confusing to locals and non-locals alike.

This was a picture of the other marina in town - Safe Harbor Skull Creek.

We had calm glass-like waters crossing our sounds.

When we arrived and walked the perimeter of Beaufort, we would see these signs designating that the view was open to the public and that nothing could be built to obstruct this beautiful view.

These old homes were mostly all built raised to accommodate the tidal influence.

We went on Emmas Historical Golf Cart Tours to learn the history of Beaufort. This home was formerly a hospital in the civil war. The home hadn't been completely build when the town was occupied. Because it was used as a military hub, no buildings were damaged and you can see homes dating to the 1700's.

We found a table that makes both of us happy. Ted likes a hightop and Laura likes a regular table height.

Stay: 2 days

Pros: Help for docking in current, walking distance to nice town

Cons: Face dock can be rough
