Crossing to Okeechobee at Moore Haven(#98)

We had a beautiful day leaving Ft. Myers on our trip to Moore Haven ate River House Marina. We could have stayed at the first come first serve City Marina, but we chose the River House Marina because it was guaranteed.

We locked through with two other boats on our first of three locks on the Okeechobee.

We stayed two days because of windy weather the second day.

Laura walked on the walkway bordering the Okeechobee walkway.

We walked to this great Mexican Food store packed with fresh food.

The aisles were very tight with floor to ceiling food. We had to manuever around people coming and going in the store.

We had wonderful burritos and fajita platters. Plus - they were so nice! Vegetables were fresh and yummy!

Stay: 2 nights

Pros: Quiet location even with storm, nice owners, restrooms close by, secure tie up

Cons: No restaurants neaby

Rating: 3 star
