Traveling through the Trent Severn is like walking in a neighborhood backyard. People are often swimming or lounging around on their lawns.

These pictures are taken from differnt views at the same location.

Straight ahead is gorgeous and serenc.

We have been looking forward to the Peterborough Lift lock since we first learned about the Great Loop. This engineering marvel is one of around 6 locks in the world. A simple hydraulic lock, it's fascinating and amazing to watch and ride.

We have a video that we haven't figured out how to easily load. If you'd like us to send it to you, email sparklingstar390my@gmail.com and we can try to send it to you.
However, getting into Peterborough Marina isn't something we were looking forward. We had heard stories of Loopers slamming into the docks because of the extreme current. Ted estimated about 3 knots since we didn't move when we were only using our engines to resist. We had two approaches and were able to dock successfully but it was a bit frightening. Everyone has a look of amazement after accomplishing docking here. It looks so peaceful!

Again, the high point was meeting up with friends for dinner & docktails. We also have enjoyed buddy boating with friends along the way.
