We successfully anchored on the Great Loop! We left early in the morning for our long trip (69 miles) to our anchorage in Little Diversion Channel. We had five boat traveling with us and were hoping the other two boats were leaving. The anchorage usually holds 6-8 boats.
We left on a spectacularly beautiful morning.

Laura never tires of seeing the barges on the river.

Ted directs the dropping of the anchor.

And then doublechecks our fuel bladder after emptying 1/2 the contents.

Koa Kai rafted up with Callie B.

Happy Giraffe stayed at the entrance.

Little River Diversion Channel Docktials on Happy Giraffe! We were joined by new friends on Stayin Afloat and URNheritance as well as our buddy boats River Rat, Callie B, and Koa Kai.

Stay: 1 night
Location: Little Diversion Channel
Pros: Easy anchorage, protected from wind and river traffic. wonderful gathering with friends
Cons: Laura didn't like not being able to walk on shore and likes marinas much better!
Rating - Probably Great for an anchorage...
Still don't want to anchor
