First Stop - Colonial Beach! (#1)

Our first stop was always going to be the Boathouse Marina in Colonial Beach. This marina has been our home away from home for the past four years. We were excited to see Bill Bowman and staff as our first stop on our Great Loop.

We had a wonderful lunch at our favorite restaurant in Colonial Beach, Orchid Thai Cuisine (formerly Sukis). We've learned to enjoy the wonderful outdoor dining, we must come at noon because of the angle of the sun setting.

When we returned to the marina, we asked about washing clothes and the electricity went out in the whole Northern Neck. So we enjoyed some shade and breeze outside while waiting for the electricity to return. We decided not to run the generator, and used DC battery for the refrigerator.

Luckily we had power back in a couple of hours.

We had a wonderful time and left early the next morning on our way to Solomons Island!
