Foggy Start to Famous Bobby's Fishcamp (#78)

We left Kingfisher Marina at 5:30am to make the lock with in a bit of fog with two other boats behind us. Ted is always in his happy place in the fog. Luckily we have AIS to tell us when barges were coming, and Ted got to stand out front looking for stray logs. Another beautiful day on the water.

We had the foghorn out as we led the way.

On our second to last lock of the Inland Waterways (and 3rd to last for the Loop) we saw the gates open to this glorious view.

Lucking this bridge was liftes so we had easy passage.

We were making good time and the views were spectacular. We sped up the boat and made the decision to skip the anchorage and go all the way to Bobby's Fishcamp. We left our friends on Therapy and Dream Looper.

We were able to catch the deers crossing the river on camera. Once they get out of the water they bolt up into the trees.

ree

We were starting to realize we might not see many more barges as we are almost at the end.

The feul pump reader was at the top of the hill. So Laura called Ted and gave updates as the filled.

This is the distance from the fuel guage to the boat!

There used to be a restaurant at Bobby's Fishcamp that served river catfish. Apparently, Bobby's Fishcamp holds the only grandfathered license to serve river catfish at the restaurant. All other restaurants must serve farm raised catfish.

We arrived before dark to get feul. Right behind us was the delivery captains on Summer Place/WebCite II who had been here before. We were the only two at Bobby's for the night.

We traveled 96 miles to reach Bobby's Fishcamp and 1 lock! A huge success to make it through and arrive before dark.
