Nina, Pinta, & Sparkling Star at GoosePond (#70)

We decided to finish our sidetrip to Chattanooga and head back down to retrace our route on the Tennessee. We left on an overcast day with a little bit of rain but it was gorgeous. With the current with us, we were able to make good time and passed by Hales Bar marina without stopping.

The waters were beautifully calm on the Tennessee River at the horseshoe bend right after we left Chattanooga.

The clouds on the still water had a beautiful reflection.

We arrived to find the Nina & Pinta replica boats that we just saw in Chattanooga. This time they were very close to our boat. These boats are replicas of the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Interesting to see the size of our boat in comparison.

The Sparkling Star is docked next to our friends on LaRea who we hadn't seen since we first met at Prince William Marina. We met Chris & Diane in person a couple of weeks before we left on our voyage. They started their Loop in July, and this was the first time they had caught up with us. We had a wonderful dinner together at The Docks and look forward to seeing them again on the Loop.

We left at first light the next morning to this gorgeous sunrise on the water.
