Swing Bridge in Little Current (#36)

Our trip to Little Current from Killarney was about two and a half hours. However, you have to time your arrival with the 100 year old Little Current Swing Bridge. The bridge opens on the hour with 6 minutes to open, three open, and 6 minutes to close. When we arrived we found out the marina we thought we had booked was full, and the manager who had given us the wrong information three times scrambled to find us a place. It was a bit crazy, but we got the best spot at the marina.

Afterwards, we had a great view of the other boats trying to come in and find slips or get fuel on the hour. Great entertainment when it's not you!

We had wonderful meals with our friends on Full Moon, and met new friends on Halycon, as well as three local boats with knowledge of the Loop.

Port of Little Current Marina

Pros: Great wide docks, open space to walk around, quiet, entertaining, grocery and food nearby

Cons: Showers/bathrooms could be nicer, can have strong current (but we did not because winds were light)
