Our trip to St. Augustine was the first of three long days to beat the weather and take advantage of some glorious travel days. We decided that our three quick days could get us all the way to Georgia. We had wanted to stay 3 days in St. Augustine, but with the weather we would have been there 7 days. Since we are working to complete our loop by the end of April, we decided to move on with the idea we will come back another time.

We left passing the fuel dock.

On our way we saw many young people in these boats. They bend on their knees to move forward, and aren't entirely stable.

Very interesting to watch.

Going through bridges that are opened for you is always fascinating.

Shortly after we arrived, our friends Melanie & Rich from Jewel met us for dinner in St. Augustine. They live 1.5 hr away and finished their loop before the holidays. We met them first on the Hudson at Shady Harbor marina when their daughter was with them. We loop-frogged with them along the way.

Off in the distance is a fort that we would have loved to have seen with more time. This is as close as we got.

Our marina was right next to the Bridge of Lions.

The lions are beautiful.

You can almost see the Sparkling Star dinghy cover next to the Bridge of Lions. The dock did not have any security keys or codes to get in located in a downtown area.

Rich took us on a walking tour of St. Augustine. Melanie and I chatted behind them and I got this photo of Ted & Rich.
We loved our one night here which wasn't nearly enough time.
