Bus & Ferry to Glasgow with Edinburgh Trip (#11)

We have sped up our trip to have a brief two night stay in Glasgow with a 1 day trip to Edinburgh. After this pace, we've decided to go back to our three or more days per stop pace. This means we will miss Wales on this trip, but gives us a more relaxed itinerary before we get to Bucharest, Romania to start our River cruise.

We had a connecting bus waiting for us after the ferry was delayed by an hour to take us to Glasgow.

We stayed at another Leonardo Hotel which is turning out to be a favorite chain.

The next morning we took a roundtrip train to Edinburgh. Ted's first look at Edinburgh is a win. The weather is cloudy and cool for Ted's favorite weather.

Our tour guide James led us up and around the outside of the castle with stories of battles and seiges.

The castle is actually so high because it is on volcanic rock.

We scooted down the narrow walkways as we headed back to the train station. Our next morning is an early departure to Inverness.
