We stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in Galway at the best location near the city center.

Our hotel was right next to the water. We couldn't really see this view, but we could hear the water.

Our first full day we walked around the town and learned the history with Neil from Legendary Walking Tours. a fabulous walking tour.

One of the most interesting parts of the tour was the fact that the town built a mall over the medieval town walls.

Our second day we planned our trip to Cliffs of Moher with the ferry to the Aran Islands.

We took a carriage ride on the the small island Inisheer that we visiting for less than 2 hours. We were lucky enough to have the 11 year old son in training drive the horse and buggy and give his take on the tour. It reminded me of the times my kids led tours when we were volunteering at Pioneer Farms in Texas.

These are the Cliffos of Moher in a distance from Inisheer.

We had lunch on the island with many locals and tourists.

Laura purchased an Aran Islands sweater in Dublin she's been wearing the whole trip. We've now been to the Island where the sweaters started.

Many locals and tourists get around the island by bike.

On our way back we were close up to the Cliffs of Moher. Getting pictures without the other passengers in was a bit of challenge.

We were able to see the arches that you can't see from above. Pictures don't do the experience justice.

Our tour took us to stop at Bunratty Castle. Since we were only 15 minutes by bus, we opted to stay to see the castel and take public transportation back to the hotel.

We visited the living history museum at Bunratty castle. Afterwards, we had a lovely dinner in town and figured out how to get a bus ride home.

The 12 foot tide range in 6 hours fascinated us. There were a handful of boats that went through the cycle of being completely out of water and then back in. Around the corner was a marina with a lock that was open only two hours a day when the tide was high enough.

During low tide you can see how this small tidal dam keeps the boats afloat during low tide.
