Experiencing Serbia in Novi Sad (#22) (C#5)

We enjoyed our trip to Novi Sad. We made a walking tour of the town and market place with our guide Christi. We got to taste local produce, the apricots where delicious!

Albert Einstein's wife Mileva Maric was from Novi Sad. We visited a local hotel that was Albert Eistein's favorite when he visited with his wife's family. We also learned that Mileva Maric could be a major collaborator or author of many of Einstein's most significant contributions. Perhaps it should be Mileva Maric's Theory of Relativity?

For the Nobel Peace Price, she was given all prize money for their children. She gave up her studies after she got pregnant with their daughter. Eventually, Albert Einstein left her with their two children to live with his first cousin.

Our tour guides said the four bridges were bombed by Americans (NATO) in 1999. The new bridges are more modern and sturdy. The tour guide said the bombing of the bridges encouraged new bridges to be built.

We had a local Serbian explain how the bombing of the bridges in Novi Sad encouraged the Serbs to stop attacking Kosovo and eventually brought peace to the region. He said the Serbs want Kosovo back and feel Kosovo is the heart of Serbia.
