Rail and Fjords in Bergen (#46)

We planned our journey to make it all the way up to Bergen - the furthest Northern Stop on our European adventure.

We enjoyed our rail tip and got some fantastic pictures on our way to Bergen.

A couple of days later we took a Ferry to Bergen.

We enjoyed stopping at all the towns along the way. Our trip took 11 hours of boat time with 2 hours in Flam. We had a magnificent day.

Back in Bergen there were 4 cruise ships in town which is the limit. In 2032 all large cruise ships will need to be green and have zero emission.

At the top floor of the Byrggenss Museum of escavated artifacts.

Combs were very importand and common.

We also took a walking tour of Bergen and he told us about the German merchant that lived in the buildings selling dried fish from Northern Norway. The stock fish was the major export and could be rehydrated after being stored for up to 10 years. Took seven days to rehydrate.


Bergen

Pros: Beautiful, wonderful people, relaxing, interesting history

Cons: Expensive, need more time here
